As mentioned before in my 'Korean Make-up 101 Blog', eyebrows are a major part of Korean beauty routines and almost everyone you see on the streets of Seoul has their eyebrows sculpted by some sort of product. I personally find doing my eyebrows so difficult and cannot seem to master a technique to achieve 'on point' brows. So in my desperation I ordered this eyebrow product off eBay in the hopes it could lend me a helping hand. The hypePeel off beauty trends are all the hype at the moment and there are so many peel off products available to try. From face masks to lip tints to nose packs, if you have a fetish of peeling things off your face, you have come to the right place! The first thing I do before purchasing any wacky products such as these is search the internet for it's reviews and any pros and cons, a.k.a. if anyone has ripped off their eyebrow yet. From what I found everyone still had eyebrows and they were either extremely impressed or disappointed with this product. I knew the only way to come to my own conclusion was to try the product for myself and I would like to share my results with you guys! The ProductThe product that I have tested for you guys today is the Etude House 'Tint My Brows Gel' which is an eyebrow tint that you apply and then peel off. After a minimum of two hours (or recommended application time of overnight) of having the product apply you should peel it off and there will supposedly be a tint left behind on your brows.
Now I'll admit I've sort of cheated in this review, I have already used this product and know the results but in my previous use I only left the product on for the minimum time suggested. This time I was curious to see if the product's effects would differ if I left it on overnight. I have taken photos of the results over seven days and have continued my beauty routine as per usual. I did not use any cleansing products directly over my brows for this period but did wash them with water. The only product on my eyebrows is this tint, I did not use any pencils, mascaras or gels on my eyebrows for the time being. Well enough talk and let's see some results. Overnight applicationI'm not gonna lie, I was extremely nervous that I would wake up with either no eyebrows or dark eyebrows like these for the rest of the week. This gel has a thick, almost glue-like consistency so it is important to take care when applying. Make sure you have cotton tips and make-up remover handy for any mistakes you make (with the long application time, don't worry if you make a mistake, you will have plenty of time to remove it). Apply to clean eyebrows to your desired shape, I find that applying onto brow hairs gives a more natural result than applying onto your skin, so try and stick to the areas in which you have hair. Before I show the results I just wanted to show a quick photo of what my naked brows look like. Day 1After leaving the gel on for around 10 hours, I woke up the next day with the edges of the tint beginning to flake off, so I knew that it was time to take it off! I normally peel from the front first, not sure if this is the right way to do it or not. This is the initial result! To be honest it does not look any different to the first time I tried it but it did pull out a lot more hairs this time round :( Made me a bit sad so when I use this again I will not be leaving it on overnight. Day 2After showering and washing my face for a day the tint has lost it's residual darkness but I prefer this colour anyway as it's more natural. Please don't mind my bare face haha, I don't normally wear make-up if I'm just at home. Day 3Probably the results at their best. On day three the tint had really evened out and there was no dark patches left. Although some girls like the gradient brow effect, I honestly could not be bothered and opt for a natural brow shape. Day 4 & 5
Day 6Day 7So this is it, day 7 and you can see the tint held up pretty well throughout the seven days of face washing and showers. The resulting colour turns out to be an orangey-brown which doesn't bother me, during this stage I use a little bit of dark brown brow pencil to cover the tint. If you have dark brown to black hair or brows I would suggest choosing the grey brown colour instead. Overall I am really impressed with this product and it did exactly what it said it would do. I'm still unsure as to whether the duration of application affects the final results but never the less the results are still fantastic. My rating of this product: 7/10The pros: It lasts for around 7 days, relatively easy to apply, great colour and natural look The cons: Can pull out eyebrow hairs, fades into an orange tinge I think I will try the grey brown shade next and find out what colour that fades into. I hope you all enjoyed this review and if there are any products you are curious to try then let me know, because I will be your guinea pig! Until next time, stay healthy and beautiful guys~ J.Jade
