Eyebrows are eyebrows right, how could there possibly be any differences? oh well let me tell you there are as many eyebrow styles as there are stars in the sky and these brow shapes can change your entire look. Today I will be telling you about two of the styles, American and Korean brows, what makes them different and how to achieve them. Celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, Beyonce and Rihanna are some of the many that sport the typical American styled 'Arched Brow'. Some typical characteristics of American eyebrows are a neatly groomed hairs, an arch or rounded shape, filled darkly with a gradient look. American style brows really frame your face and that arched shape is very flattering for any eye shape. But I find that achieving an American style brow requires a lot of plucking, waxing and threading and this over grooming can prevent future hair growth. Korean brows are on the completely different end of the band wagon. What I believe makes them so different is the naturally sparse brow hairs that most asians such as myself are blessed with. Where American brows arch, Korean brows lie flat and where American brows are drawn thinner and darker, Korean brows are thicker and lighter. I have found that those with Korean brows also do not mind having a few stray hairs left un-plucked whilst in America hairs are ripped out thoroughly and without mercy. To achieve American brows products such as these are preferred over the classic brow pencil. Gel and stick pomades are amongst the most popular, with Anastasia's 'Dipbrow Pomade' on top of the product food chain. A pomade has a thick gel-like consistency and is used to draw and stain the skin to achieve your desired shape. A great substitute for the Anastasia product is Maybelline's 'Brow Drama' pomade crayon, which has a similar consistency and stain power to it's expensive counterpart. The only thing is you will eventually need to use an liner brush as the crayon becomes blunt. Eyebrow mascaras are a fantastic product if you already have that arched shape but wish to achieve a fuller and thicker brow. Eyebrow Mascaras come in a range of shades to suit every brow colour. On the other side we have products that will help you achieve Korean style brows. Koreans use a variety of products to create their brow looks but most of them revolve around tinting and staining. Eyebrow tint products are becoming increasingly popular, with every cosmetics brand having their own tint, whether it's a pencil, gel or mascara. Although Korean brow tints are made to tint the skin, the stain power of each product is made to be removable with any type of exfoliation. A product that I have reviewed in a previous blog is the Etude House 'Tint my Brows'. This was a fantastic product and the only thing that prevented me from using it was the harshness of the peeling. The VerdictEven though both American and Korean style eyebrows are fabulous in their own way and suit a wide range of face shapes and make-up looks, I would have to say that my personal choice would be a combination of the two. I have naturally arched brows and choose to fill them lightly with tints and mascaras, this way I get the best of both worlds. I hope you enjoyed this entry, I decided that this time I would spend little more time editing the images and style of the blog, to make it more enticing for your eyes! I will be recording more videos and have an exciting giveaway coming up very soon, so keep a look out for that! Until next time, stay healthy & beautiful~ J.Jade
